The 299 Bourke Street Redevelopment was a comprehensive revitalisation project encompassing the renovation of lower ground, ground, and first-floor retail spaces in the heart of Bourke Street Mall, alongside the transformation of five upper levels into cutting-edge office spaces and the creation of a new lift lobby connecting to Little Collins Street. Throughout the project, heritage preservation and complex structural considerations were carefully navigated, with the building's fabric thoughtfully refreshed while its original heritage elements — including the iconic 1928 ceiling — were meticulously restored. Maben commenced the intricate base build redevelopment of this historic building in 2022, successfully converting the 1928 and 1938 structure into a vibrant multi-tenancy retail precinct complemented by five levels of distinctive commercial office space, which also includes the addition of an entirely new floor.
